First Workshop: Publishing 101 and Professional Branding for Authors

I am really excited to announce my first workshop on Publishing 101 and Professional Branding for Authors. As circumstances would have it, this workshop is designed for authors working in the young adult and children’s books space.

What the course looks like:

This is an A to Z, full day workshop (lunch is included) covering an introduction to publishing and then focusing on each authors goals and how building (or enhancing) a professional brand and a strong platform aids publishers and authors in selling books.

A strong online and in real life (IRL) brand and network also aids in filling the gap between books, encourages invitations for talks and speaking engagements, and helps earn more interviews and book reviews. Connecting with the communities your book is looking to serve helps when it’s time to reach those people with your book. Publishers do a lot, but they can’t always do it all or connect as authentically as you can. This workshop will teach you how to leverage those connections and promote yourself and your book in ways that feel authentic.

Alexandra Hernandez will be joining us as a special guest!

Alex will join us to discuss her work as a writer and literary publicist in the children’s and YA books space. She is currently Publicity Manager at Levine Querido and a recent MFA graduate of the The New School’s Writing for Children and Young Adults program.
