All campaigns include intensive research, tailored and individualized outreach, and regular communication with you and your in-house team to make certain that no stone goes unturned. We strongly recommend that you talk with your publisher about bringing in outside help on your book prior to opening the conversation with us. We are highly collaborative with your publisher and team oriented. Our projects thrive when your publisher is excited to collaborate with us.
Bespoke literary PR and/or marketing campaigns starting no less than six months in advance of publication date. Each book campaign includes print, online, radio, and when appropriate TV outreach, to journalists and producers at all appropriate outlets for your book. P1M does not conduct publicity campaigns for self-publishing authors.
These campaigns are designed for academics, researchers, and experts in any field but our focus is specifically with authors. Campaigns run a minimum of six months and do not need to be tied specifically to the publication date of a book. Expert campaigns typically consist of help with oped ideation, editing, and pitching, broad outreach to news producers, hosts, and journalists, and tailored outreach to subject area journalists, radio shows and podcasts. Many of our expert campaign clients choose to remain on retainer after the initial positioning campaign is complete to continue building their position as a subject area expert in the media.
Marketing campaigns can include social media strategy and support, social media influencer outreach, big mouth outreach, outreach to politicians and subject area influencers, digital marketing including advertising, website strategy and blog support, newsletter building, giveaways, American Bookseller Association marketing, and collaboration and strategy to manage the author side of in-house marketing campaigns.

“Working with Sarah Russo has been such a joy. She crafted a creative and thoughtful press campaign to establish my expertise during a historic election and media cycle. As I move into a new phase of my career, she has been instrumental in helping me plan out the publicity components of my business. Sarah’s creativity, responsiveness, and overall media savvy has been in-valuable to every part of my work. I value her counsel above almost all others.”

“I truly cannot imagine my debut publication journey without Laura and the Page One team by my side. Laura was so communicative and hard-working, receptive whenever I had questions or ideas, and steadfast in her support and encouragement. Everyone collaborated seamlessly, and the rest of my team—from agent to editor to in-house publicist—were so impressed with P1M too. As a nonfiction writer hoping to reach various audiences with a genre-crossing book, I was so grateful to have Laura’s vision both for the birds-eye view of my literary goals and on a detail-oriented level as she worked to get my book in front of the right eyes. I truly hope I get to work with Laura and P1M again!”
—Erica Berry, author of Wolfish: Wolf, Self, and the Stories We Tell About Fear (Flatiron, 2023)
“I feel very happy and fortunate to work with the Page One team. It was the first time one of my books was going to be released in the USA, and thanks to Laura, Sarah and the team, I felt confident about the launch of my novel. I live in France, and despite the distance, I always felt very supported and connected to what was happening in the United States. Their commitment really helped elevate my book.” —
—Anne Berest, author of The Postcard (Europa Editions, 2023)
“Sarah Russo has decades of experience with the mysterious process of getting books into the hands of readers. It’s a subtle art and a complicated process—widely mythologized, almost always misunderstood. To do it right takes someone who understands the business end: who can walk an author through what to expect and, just as importantly, what not to expect. And it takes someone who understands the emotional end: the agonizing process of publishing a book requires someone who is not only an advocate but a friend. There’s nobody smarter and more experienced than Sarah. And if, in this tough, mean business, there’s someone nicer and more full of heart, I haven’t come across her.”
